I would like this functionality be available with swiping also. Unfortunately, when there is no more history to go backwards, you cannot swipe and close the page, but you can press the blank back button on the control panel for that effect. The browser does support this functionality. When I browse web pages back and forth, I like to swipe my finger from left to right to go back in history and from right to left to go forward.
